Fresh, top-quality sushi is the name of the game at this family-run gem.
The kind of restaurant that really deserves the moniker “hidden gem”, Yuz Sushi Bar is a family-run establishment that has built up a very loyal following in the ’burbs. If you’re expecting buffet-style sushi (of the buy one, get one free nature), this is not the spot for you. The focus here is on well-made, fresh-as-it-comes sushi, delivered by very friendly staff in an intimate, cosy setting. From expertly made California rolls to the best salmon roses, eel sushi for the adventurous, or a moreish portion of soft crab rolls, it would seem that this restaurant is incapable of sending out a dish that does not prompt a deep sigh of satisfaction from the recipient. There are also some lesser-known Japanese dishes to try. Half the charm of the place comes from the family who owns it and works here – it would be hard to find a warmer welcome on local shores.
