You’ll find this popular café behind a green hedge on busy Belvedere Road, from where it’s been serving delicious breakfasts, light lunches and indulgent bakes since before “Instagram was a thing”. It’s located in an old house, with a glass-enclosed conservatory and garden at the back, so it feels as if you’ve stumbled upon a secret garden in the suburbs. Greens with poached eggs, sesame seeds and basil oil, lentil dhal or curried mince on toast with poached eggs are breakfast highlights, but there are plenty of other great options. Lunches offer sandwiches, wraps and salads, as well as more substantial plates including a smashburger and a Thai green curry. There’s an excellent tea and coffee selection, plus smoothies and juices. Start your weekend here with the family, or pop in for a quick solo lunch, or with friends.
