It’s rare to find a restaurant that’s still attracting diners after 30 years (and in a shopping mall, no less), but that’s exactly what Willoughby’s in the V&A Waterfront has achieved. It remains one of the best sushi spots in town, but there’s more than that to the menu, such as chicken yakitori and beef fillet, and lots more. But at its heart, it’s a seafood lover’s paradise. There’s tuna, salmon, kingklip, mussels, oysters, shellfish and a fantastic range of sushi, plus some good vegan options, too – it’s hard to settle on one thing. Everything is fresh and well-balanced. You should also leave room for dessert – their signature millefeuille is popular for good reason. Service is efficient and professional but it can get very busy in peak season – be patient and order a carafe of wine from their excellent wine list to enjoy while you wait.

Don't leave without trying:
The fresh fish, particularly the kingklip.
