This bakery and espresso bar operates on two premises: really good coffee and really good bread. Both are taken very seriously, with real craftsmanship at work, and the owners really try to build relationships with their customers and their families, learning their names and coffee orders by heart. Their efforts are rewarded, with many followers declaring their coffee as a benchmark against which they measure all others. The pastries are also excellent, with the chocolate éclairs and croissants earning particular praise, and the sourdough being touted as the best in the country. There are also takeaway sandwiches on offer if you can’t stay, as well as loaves of sourdough for sale so you can prolong the experience at home. They also served iced coffees, milkshakes and smoothies. This should be a must-stop on your next visit to the Midlands.
