Green Parrot Izakaya
A casual, family-friendly, Asian-inspired restaurant.
If youβre in the mood for yakitori, dim sum, ramen or noodles, in fact almost anything Asian-adjacent, head here. The Green Parrot is a small, casual eatery that has established itself as a consistently good choice for those craving Asian-inspired flavours in Durban. Start off with a collection of small plates, such as gyoza (fried dumplings), chicken karaage (fried chicken thighs with sweet-chilli mayo), or agedashi tofu (crispy tofu in a sweet chilli-and-sesame dashi broth with pickled kelp strips). Thereβs also sesame chicken and glazed pork bao, warming bowls of ramen, and other mains including kimchi beef and stir-fried veg. To drink, expect Dragon Fiery ginger beer on tap, as well as a small selection of Japanese beers, among others. Its sister restaurant, Wok Box, is right next door and you can order from both menus.
Don't leave without trying:
The crispy duck wontons.
